Bartle Bound in 12 Days

BARTLE STUFF MUST HAVES

Don't Forget

  • 14" Tall Bartle Camp Box. Best if it has wheels. Make sure you mark it. They all look alike.
  • Combination Lock. Make sure the T10 Campmaster also knows the combination.
  • Battery Powered Fan and extra batteries. This makes sleeping a lot nicer.
  • Bug Net - Sansbug brand. This is a an optional item and sits on top of your Scouts cot. For some first year campers it makes the experience of sleeping in a tent easier.
  • Rain jacket. Yes it rains at camp. Rain pants and gore tex shoes are nice too.
  • Insect Repellent. Suggest Repell 100. Insects aren't too bad if you stay out of the tall grass. But they are everywhere. Also suggest a cream for bug bites. Something to help with the itch.
  • Headlight is really handy when you have to get up in the middle of the night or are coming back from taking a shower. Also a small lantern for the tent.
  • Swim Goggles. Basic speedo type is great.
  • Water Bottle. Actual two in case you lose the first one. I suggest not spending too much on a bottle since they get left. Make sure you mark it with their name and T10.
  • Clothes pins and a short clothes line is handy for hanging up swim wear and wet clothes if it rains.
  • Games. Cards, small board games, Magic anything popular.
  • Cash - The trading post has slushes, ice cream and other treats. Some merit badges have an expense and they will likely want a Camp Bartle shirt. We recommend smaller bills in case they lose one. You can also mail additional funds. Remember you can buy a Bartle t-shirt or other larger items on Visitor Sunday.
  • MARK EVERYTHING with your Scouts name and T10. Everyones stuff looks the same.
  • Make sure if you pack anything your Scout knows about it. Please Do NOT pack their camp box alone.
  • Don't forget to send mail. The other Scouts will receive boxes of goodies. Some get Amazon shipped to them. Mail call is a highlight of the day. And can be a disappointment if the Scout doesn't get some occasional mail/swag.
  • Remember - Visitor Sunday starts at 10:00 am. Your Scout will be looking for you at 10:00 am. Bring lunch and enough to leave for dinner. Keep in mind it is hot a Bartle and some foods don't do well in thereat. Wear closed toe shoes and be ready to walk. Visitor Sunday is a highlight of the week.

T10 Golf Tournament at Meadowlark Golf Course in Clinton, MO - Monday, June 20th - 9:30

Our older Scouts and all welcome T10 adults take a trip to Clinton , Mo for a "little" gold. This is often the first time any of Scouts have ever "played" golf. It is a lot of fun and a great side trip from camp. If you would like to join the round please email the Bartle Team to save you a space. It is great to team up our adults with our Scouts. You do not have to stay at Camp Bartle to play.
